Emigrating

International banking products and services for emigration

The act of emigration brings with it a great raft of tasks and responsibilities. Chances are you will be able to delegate some of these; others may well be taken care of by your employer. But your changing financial needs will require your personal attention.

What kind of bank account will you need? What are the tax implications of living and working abroad? Can you continue to save in an ISA? Will you still be able to vote? These are just some of the questions asked by people emigrating abroad - and that Barclays is here to answer. We'll help you with your emigration related finances and may be able to answer other questions related to living and working overseas.

We specialise in international banking services shaped to meet the specific needs that may arise while you work abroad. Depending on your circumstances and the country you emigrate to we may be able to offer you:

  • Offshore bank accounts, savings and investments
  • Mortgages
  • Loans (subject to application and status)
  • Access to our International Telephone and Online Banking service.

For people emigrating or about to emigrate, Barclays offers a first rate international bank account, available via any of the service options summarised below and described in more detail.

No matter where you are emigrating to, Barclays can help you make the transition smoothly. We even offer in-depth, country-specific guides so that you can take the new challenges in your stride.
